SPONSORSHIP HANDOVER CEREMONY FOR “THE PROJECT OF COOPERATIVE TRAINING AND MOBILIZING THE HEALTHCARE WORKFORCE IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 IN VIETNAM”
In the morning of 12/5/2020, A Sponsorship Handover Ceremony for “The project of cooperative traininng and mobilizing the healthcare workforce in response to COVID-19 in Vietnam” took place at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Hochiminh City” under the auspices of HAIVN, USA and Novartis Vietnam.
In regard to delegates, the ceremony welcomed Representatives from Novartis Vietnam, Mr. Roeland Roelofs – The National Chairman, Mr. Lê Tuấn Anh – Director of Public Relations, Patient Approach and Communication, Mrs. Vũ Vân Ái Khanh – Medical Director; From HAIVN, Mrs. Võ Thị Tuyết Nhung – Vice Director of HAIVN.
From UMP of Hochiminh City, there were attendances of the representatives from sponsored receipient organization, Assoc. Professor. Doctor. Trần Diệp Tuấn – Headmaster, Assoc. Professor. Phạm Lê An – Director of GIC Center, Doctor. Trần Ngọc Đăng – Vice Director of GIC Center, Doctor. Lê Khắc Bảo – Director of the Medical Education Center, Doctor. Trần Thụy Khánh Linh – Deputy of Nursing Department – Medical Technologies and MPH. Trương Thị Tuyết Thanh – Head of General Administrative Office.
Given the complicated progressions of COVID-19 pandemic in the world and in Vietnam, Novartis Vietnam and HAIVN sponsor the implementation of The “Project of cooperative training and mobilizing the healhcare workforce in response to COVID-19 in Vietnam” aiming at organizing education, training courses for senior medical students at Medicine and Pharmacy Universities (UMPs), Colleges nationwide to update knowledge of COVID-19 precautions, prevention, and to get ready in participating in pandemic response when needed.
Within the scope of the project, Novartis Vietnam will sponsor an amount of cash as 6.469.010.670 VND, and HAIVN will provide technical assistance through the project attending experts, lecturers.
Hochiminh UMP is the organization approved by MOH to receive the sponsorship and this project will be implemented at 06 Medical Universities in Vietnam including Hanoi UMP, Thai Binh UMP, Hai Phong UMP, Thai Nguyen UMP, Hue UMP and Hochiminh UMP.
At the ceremony opening speech, on be half of the 06 UMPs in Vietnam, Assoc. Professor. Trần Diệp Tuấn, Headmaster of Hochiminh UMP, sent his sincere thanks to Novartis Vietnam and HAIVN for their proactive support to the project. The project implementation is of vital importance given the current complex context of COVID-19, this is the foundation to prepare a reserve healthcare workforce for the COVID-19 response in Vietnam.
To Hochiminh City UMP, the project is of great benefit when supporting The university to successfully develop the Interprofessional Education (IPE) program in relation to COVID-19. The IPE program has brought interesting, emotionally weathy experiences to the lecturers, trainers, and students of Hochiminh UMP. In addition, the program has also attracted great attention and highly appreciated among numerous students, lectures from other peer universities.
