On 30 May 2017, HAIVN and VNCH organized a launching ceremony to officially kick off the collaboration toward improving the hospital’s infection prevention and control (IPC). Part of the Global Health Security Agenda, this collaboration aims to reduce healthcare associated infections, promote the appropriate use of antibiotics, and build the capacity of the hospital’s IPC department. The launching ceremony was chaired by Professor Le Thanh Hai, Director of VNCH, with participation from the Ministry of Health, USAID, WHO, hospital leaders, and representatives from other international organizations. To start the collaboration, VNCH also took this opportunity to launch the “Clean Your Hands - Fight antibiotic resistance – it’s in your hands” campaign. This campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of hand hygiene to prevent infections and to reduce antibiotic resistance.
